Southern Wales and England

More photos from Chedworth Roman Villa, Gloucestershire... It was rediscovered by Victorians in 1864 and excavated. The National Trust now maintains the site to ensure its conservation for future generations. Top left is a stokehole, a furnace for underfloor heating; bottom right is the boiler room with log store which supplies heat and hot water to the baths; more examples of the mosaic tiled floors (top right and bottom left).
